ANALYSIS OF CASH ON DELIVERY PAYMENTS ON PURCHASE INTEREST ON E-COMMERCE TOKOPEDIA AND SHOPEE
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of the Cash on Delivery (COD) payment method on consumer purchasing interest on the Tokopedia and Shopee e-commerce platforms. COD provides a sense of security for consumers because payment is made after the goods are received, which reduces the risk of fraud in online transactions. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey technique conducted on consumers who have used the COD feature on both platforms. The results of the study indicate that COD has a positive influence on purchasing decisions, especially for consumers who do not yet have access or preference for non-cash payment methods. However, this payment method also faces several challenges related to efficiency and costs, which need to be managed properly by e-commerce parties to ensure smooth transactions and consumer satisfaction. Overall, COD can be an effective strategy in increasing purchasing interest and expanding the reach of the e-commerce market.
