THE EFFECT OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS ON MILLENNIAL GENERATION EMPLOYEE RETENTION IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY

This research discusses the influence of training and development programs on retention of millennial generation employees in the service industry. With the rapid growth of the service industry and the growing millennial generation employee population, companies are faced with major challenges to retain their talent. Millennials have unique characteristics, such as an interest in self-development and a desire for continuous career growth, that differentiate them from previous generations. In a literature perspective, this research examines various studies that show the relationship between training and development and increased job satisfaction, employee engagement, and loyalty to the company. The results of the literature review show that effective training and development programs have a significant positive impact on millennial employee retention. Relevant training that focuses on improving skills, accompanied by development programs that offer various opportunities for career growth, can increase employee job satisfaction and engagement. Additionally, companies that invest in employee development tend to have lower turnover rates. This research concludes that to retain millennial generation employees, companies in the service industry must strategically implement targeted and sustainable training and development programs.
