Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of leaders in building a positive culture that supports employee welfare in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The global pandemic has brought significant changes to the way work is done, including the shift to remote working, which poses major challenges to employee wellbeing. In this context, organizational leaders play a key role in creating an environment that supports employees' physical, mental and emotional well-being. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with leaders and employees in several companies that have implemented welfare policies during the pandemic. Research findings show that leaders who demonstrate empathy, open communication, and work flexibility policies are successful in building a positive culture that increases employee engagement and job satisfaction. Additionally, leaders who provide psychological support and maintain work-life balance have a significant impact on reducing stress and improving employee mental well-being. The results of this research highlight the importance of the role of leadership in creating an inclusive and supportive organizational culture, which contributes to improving employee well-being amidst the challenges of the pandemic. This research contributes to the literature on leadership and workplace well-being, and offers practical insights for organizational leaders in designing policies that support employee well-being in the future.
